What fuels my passion for fitness?

I am a Type 1 Diabetic.  I was

diagnosed in March of 2014, at the age of 30.  I started to feel painfully sick and showed up on death's doorstep.  Many symptoms such as vision loss, severe muscle cramps (20x worse than shin splints) nausea, extreme thirst and many more.  The fastest way I can describe this is, by the time I finally made it into a doctor I was just seconds away from passing away.  My blood glucose was over 600 with dangerous high levels of sugar in my blood.  I was in major DKA status and blood PH was at a level of no return.  It is a miracle I survived.

I am currently an ISSA Certified Personal trainer, Nutritionist and Obesity and Diabetes specialist and currently working on 4 additional certifications.  My unique approach to fitness is backed by proven science that produces results.  Additional value I bring to the table is my extensive metabolic experience, years of research, testing, implementing the right behaviors to  make healthy living a part of my life.  They call me the "Metabolic magician"!

My favorite way to stay fit and healthy!

Fun activities and what fits my lifestyle as a type 1 diabetic.  Aerobic running, swimming, golfing, biking. These are fun for me and these examples of exercise help manage my blood glucose levels, improve insulin resistance and sensitivity and improve mental and gut health.  I also enjoy team/competitive sports Anaerobic - Basketball, Hockey, Pickleball are other fun sports I enjoy and allows me to mix things up and create new relationships with others to spread T1D awareness.  Running after my 3 year old son is also great unplanned exercise.
